Soils
We carefully work to have living soils, with nutrients and microorganisms. Healthy soils that allow us to achieve a balanced vineyard and a sustainable nourishment plan that guarantees the requirements of the vine. The input of our own compost, derived from the breeding and raising of Angus cattle in the western side of our estate as well as the vegetal material and pomace left by the winemaking process, is essential for our post-harvest duties. It allows us to improve our soils and add organic matter and nutrients to the vineyard.
Incorporating by products of the pruning process during winter enables us to count on a source of ecological fertilizer and make use of these nutrients that are going back into the soil.
The use of row crops allows us to protect the soil during the most rainy years, and generate a vegetal layer that prevents erosion and collaborates with retaining humidity. It also adds nutrients and improves the biodiversity of the vineyard.
